Amanda Lawrence

Amanda Lawrence is the Executive Director Training Services and NSW Commissioner for Vocational Education. Her role oversees the delivery of government-funded vocational education and training in NSW, as well as the regulation of apprenticeships and traineeships.  Amanda has worked in the public sector at both a Commonwealth and State level for 25 years and has held senior executive roles in frontline and central agencies. Amanda’s previous role was as head of Corporate Services at the NSW Reconstruction Authority. Prior to this she led a significant program of reform in the local government sector, while working for the NSW Premier’s Department. She has a background in environmental policy, regulation and natural resource use and conservation. Amanda previously led the development of NSW ‘s first comprehensive piece of legislation for protection and regulation of biodiversity and led the policy function for the State’s National Parks & Wildlife Service.
